First of all, I wish to remind all who see this that we are all human. We are a world of error and misjudgement. We are greedy and arrogant. We have made history by misunderstanding and not caring about people. We have also hurt by caring too much. However, amidst this gloom, we have an intelligence capable of learning, growing, correcting our mistakes, and preventing new ones. We can see live pictures of Mars. We can see and speak in real-time to someone half way around our world. Our medical understanding grows every day. We can do all this and more but we can not or will not solve simple problems like what happens right here in Boise. Sure, our city is ill equipped for growth. Everyone capable of reason can see that everyday. I don't need to list examples. But crime is not a new thing for us. Maybe we are a little too cozy here in swell Idaho. I don't want to sound pessimistic or crude, least of all insensitive. So far as I can see, our state can not handle itself. The people we have running our lives are not bold enough to keep our city proficient, safe, or in line with our constitutional liberties. At the forefront of our problems, including; poor hiring practices, traffic control, housing costs, prejudices, NON-seperation of church and state, we have a unique style of justice. Execution. I was not present at any of the killings of our police or citizens that caused an uproar. But I heard the concern. I see the problem. DISRESPECT. I will respect any person who earns it. People earn and lose respect everyday. But one thing is for sure. Badges do not require automatic respect. I respect the persons wearing those badges for putting their lives on the line, but only for that reason. If I respect, I deserve respect. I have heard and witnessed dozens of times our officers were rude and disrespectful to the citizens they serve. Unacceptable. Crime is not acceptable either. Apprehension of those committing crime is necessary. Our nation REQUIRES justice throuhg court systems. That is required and acceptable. But that is not the standard practice in Boise. There is no reason for people to die. Defending yourself does not always require the other person in a body bag. That is not justice. We can view planets far away and put people in space, but we can't seem to protect a city without blasting everyone away. If that remains the case, then we should all line up and prepare to be shot. That will be the future of our Boise. This nation and state belongs to the people, not the police, legislature, congress, governors, or churches. It belongs in whole and seperately to EACH and every human. Make this work. It's time.
