I have gone through and read the opinions that the people have left on this page and I do have to say that I am disgusted at the gross negligence and one sided opinions on this shooting. Yes I do agree that it is sad that a young man had to die by bieng shot in the head, in his vehicle, and in front of his freind. But you people need to start looking at the other side of this matter. I don't know all the facts about what happened that day, but I do know that the officer that had to shoot the young man was in fear of his life or he would not have shot him.

The officer had gotten caught up on the vehicle when the young man decided to try to escape. During the officers ordeal of being draged for three city blocks, his pants were being ripped appart and his flesh was being burned and ripped off by the dreadfully painfull roadrash. Think back to the day that you fell or slid accross the asphalt and reiceived a very painfull burn and ripping of the flesh by that little fall that you had. Now imagine that agonizing wound being multiplied by at least a thousand times more pain as you are dragged for three city blocks across asphalt. How would you fell? Now I also want you to image in accordance with this, the passenger of the vehicle yelling at the driver to knock the cop off by side swiping a stop sign, or a fire hydrant, or a parking sign. I want you to imagine the fear that was running through this officers mind about now. Now take the being dragged down the road for three city blocks at speeds up to or past 50 mph, and the passenger yelling at the driver to knock the cop off. And I want you to add this fear and pain to being draged at and narrowly side swiping a multitude of street signs. Every time the signs have been getting closer and closer, and hear comes another one!

One more time, I want you take into full concentration the fear and pain that this officer is going through. The being dragged for three city blocks at speeds up to or past 50 mph with flesh being ripped off your muscles and bones, the passenger yelling at the driver to knock the cop off, the narrowly missing signs that are flying by just inches away; and here comes another one coming directly at you!! I know that I would look out for number one, myself, my life, my family; not for the person that was trying to kill me.

Now honestly, WHAT WOULD YOU DO?
